What is LCC’s role in training workers for the Spirit AeroSystems plant?

Answer:
The North Carolina Community College system uses the NEIT program (New or Expanding Industry Training) for companies. See the NCCC system website below for an explanation of the program. This site tells how companies can qualify for the state funded training…..Spirit AeroSystems does indeed qualify and LCC will be taking the lead role as the host college in developing, scheduling and implementing training for the company’s new employees. A regional project manager from the community college system will assist LCC with design and implementation of the training program. Spirit and LCC are currently entering into discussions regarding the number of persons to be hired by job category and the skill sets that will be required for performing effectively in positions to be created. This process and subsequent instructional design will be ongoing over the next several months.
